Privacy Policy

TorqAI is operated by Tornatto Labs ("we", "our"). This policy explains what data we collect across all TorqAI products, how we use it, and your rights. For privacy details specific to the iOS app, see our App Privacy Policy.

1. Products Covered

This policy covers:

TorqAI Mobile App — AI tennis swing analysis (iOS)
Web Analyzer — browser-based swing analysis
Match Organizer — tournament management
TorqAI for Coaches — student management and AI coaching
Pickleball Elevate — club experience platform
torqai.org website — all public pages

2. Data We Collect

Mobile App

Account information: Name and email from Google or Apple Sign-In.
Player profile: Handedness, backhand style, NTRP level, gender, coaching tone preference.
Video recordings: Tennis or pickleball clips you upload for analysis.
Video frames: Still images extracted at up to 1 frame per second at reduced resolution.
Body pose data: 17 body joint positions, joint angles, wrist velocity, and body rotation metrics extracted on-device via Apple Vision. This data analyzes movement only — it does not identify you.
Progress data: Stroke ratings, session summaries, player model observations.
Analytics: App usage events, device model, OS version, app version.

Web Analyzer

Video: The clip you upload for analysis (processed server-side, not stored long-term).
Profile inputs: Handedness, backhand style, NTRP level, stroke type (entered via the form).
Email: Only if you request a claim code to continue your analysis in the app.
Web analytics: Page views, button clicks, referrer, browser/device info (anonymous, no cookies).

Match Organizer

Organizer account: Email address (via magic link sign-in).
Event details: Event name, date, time, location (including Google Places data), format settings.
Player registration: Player name and optionally email and/or phone (as configured by the organizer). Skill level and partner preferences for doubles.
Match data: Scores, standings, bracket progression.

TorqAI for Coaches

Coach account: Email address (via magic link sign-in).
Student profiles: Name, sport, handedness, backhand style, skill level (NTRP or DUPR).
Student videos: Clips uploaded by the coach for analysis.
Coach notes: Free-text notes the coach writes about each student.
Chat history: Messages between the coach and the AI co-pilot.
Comparison annotations: Drawing annotations saved on video comparisons.

Pickleball Elevate

Lead form: Club name, contact name, role, email, number of courts, existing camera setup.

Website (all pages)

Interest signups: Email and product interest (from "coming soon" modals on the homepage).
Web analytics: Page views, clicks, referrer, browser/device info. Collected anonymously without cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

Marketing and Communications

By providing your email address to any TorqAI product or service, you acknowledge that we may use it for the following purposes:

Transactional emails: Messages necessary for product operation — authentication links, claim codes, tournament notifications, and account-related communications.
Marketing and promotion: We may send you promotional emails about TorqAI products, features, events, offers, and related services operated by Tornatto Labs. This includes cross-promotion of other TorqAI products you may not currently use.
Newsletters and updates: Product announcements, tips, and content related to tennis or pickleball improvement.

This applies to all email addresses collected across our platform, including but not limited to: app sign-ups, coaching tool accounts, tournament organizer and player registrations, web analyzer claim codes, Elevate lead forms, interest signups, and any other form or service on torqai.org.

Exception: Match Organizer players who do not opt in to marketing during tournament registration will only receive tournament-related communications for that event.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time without affecting your access to any TorqAI product. Transactional emails required for product operation are not affected by unsubscribe preferences.

4. AI Service Providers

TorqAI uses third-party AI services for coaching analysis. Your data is NOT used to train any AI models.

Google (Gemini API)

Data shared: Video frames, body pose data, player profile (handedness, skill level, backhand style), camera angle.
Purpose: Stroke technique analysis, coaching feedback, swing scoring.
Retention: Up to 55 days for safety monitoring, then permanently deleted.
Training: Your data is NOT used to train Google's models (paid API tier).

Anthropic (Claude API)

Data shared: Text-based analysis results (not raw video), player profile, chat messages.
Purpose: Coaching conversation, drill suggestions, session summaries.
Retention: Up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then permanently deleted.
Training: Your data is NOT used to train Anthropic's models.

No facial recognition, biometric identification, or user re-identification is performed by any AI service or by TorqAI.

5. Third-Party Services

Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage.
Google / Apple: Sign-in authentication (mobile app). Apple processes in-app payments.
Resend: Transactional email delivery (magic links, claim codes, lead notifications).
Google Maps / Places: Location autocomplete for tournament venues (Match Organizer).
Expo: Push notifications for the mobile app (device token only).

We do not sell your data to any third party. Data shared with third-party services is used solely to provide product functionality.

6. Data Visibility

Match Organizer

Player names and match results are visible on public event pages.
Player contact information (email, phone) is only visible to the event organizer.
Private events are only accessible to people with the invite code.

TorqAI for Coaches

Student data is only visible to the coach who created the student record.
Row-level security ensures coaches cannot access each other's data.

7. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies. All communication uses HTTPS encryption. Video files are stored in secure storage buckets with signed URLs that expire.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Mobile app: Delete your account from Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Web analyzer: Uploaded videos are processed and not stored long-term. Claim codes expire after 7 days.
Match Organizer: Event data is retained as long as the organizer's account is active. Organizers can delete events.
Coaching tool: Data is retained as long as the coach's account is active. Contact us to request deletion.
Elevate leads: Contact information is retained until the inquiry is resolved. Email us to request removal.
Interest signups: Email addresses are retained until the product launches or you request removal.

9. Cookies

The TorqAI website does not use tracking cookies. Web analytics are collected anonymously. The coaching tool and Match Organizer use localStorage for session state (authentication tokens, UI preferences) — this data stays on your device.

10. Children's Privacy

TorqAI products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Coaches who work with minors are responsible for obtaining parental or guardian consent before uploading video or personal data of players under 18.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
